What is the addon domain feature and how do I use it?

The addon domains feature allows you run serveral websites from a single AKIS Webhosting account (if this is included in your chosen package).

The main difference between Addon domains and Parked domains is that these don't have to be pointed at the root of the domain.

You can have a domain called myhostingaccount.com and then point domains at folders with in the account.

E.G. mysecondwebsite.com could be pointed at myhostingaccount.com/site2/
Any one who enters mysecondwebsite.com into a browser will never know it is being hosted within another account, it will appear as it has its own web hosting account.

Addon domains must be registered domain names that you own and must be configured to point to our name servers in order to work. If you purchase your domain names from AKIS, we do this this for you.

To add an "addon domain" to your web site follow the instructions shown in this Flash Tutorial: http://www.anthonykeenan.com/flashtutorials/cpanel_rvblue_addon.htm
