In your cPanel under "Email Management Tools" you will note a facility called "Spam and Virus Prevention" - this is where account wide spam filtering is setup and managed.
The spam trigger settings/points are set at 15 by default as that generally is safe to use by a large margin (still lets some spam through, while stopping most).
Incoming emails have scores allocated by the spam filtering software based on a large number of variables (sending server, ip addess block, email headers, content, subject, attachments, etc).
If that score exceeds your trigger level you have set in your account cPanel, then it is flagged as spam and not delivered to the mailbox.
It is up to each account owner to determine what trigger level score they wish to use - either going higher than 15 to make it less aggressive, or going lower than 15 to make it more aggressive.
To change your spam trigger level you do this in your cPanel...
- Log into cPanel - Go to the Email Management Tools section - Click Spam and Virus Prevention - Place a 'tick' in the Customised Settings box - This will now show a larger area of options - Enter your new score/trigger at - Consider mail 'Spam' when Score is - Click update settings - Finished.
You also have the option of not filtering for spam at all, or still filtering for spam but still having it delivered and tagged as "SPAM".
If you have any questions on on the spam filter facility, please open a support ticket for specific advice.
