WordPress 3.0.3 is available and is a security update

WordPress

WordPress 3.0.3 is available and is a security update for all previous WordPress versions. This release fixes issues in the remote publishing interface, which under certain circumstances allowed Author- and Contributor-level users to improperly edit, publish, or delete posts. These issues only affect sites that have remote publishing enabled. Remote publishing is disabled by default, but you may have enabled it to use a remote publishing client such as one of the WordPress mobile apps. You can check these settings on the “Settings → Writing” screen.

CubeCart v3 Ecommerce Sites – “End Of Life” Announcement

CubeCartWe would like to inform all clients that the CubeCart software developer Devellon have announced “End of Life” for CubeCart v3 and v4 - the announcement can be read in full on their site and an extract is included below.  Obviously this means we can no longer fully support CubeCart v3 sites with the developers support, but will of course support you as far as we can – but we suggest you start planning a move to a newer ecommerce platform over the next 12 months (or sooner) since the lack of security patches could potentially be a problem in future.

There comes a time when all software reaches the end of life stage of its product life cycle. From the release day of CubeCart version 5 we plan for the following timescales concerning the end of life of older versions:

CubeCart Version 3 – Released July 1, 2005
* Official support, documentation, knowledgebase articles and forum pages will be discontinued.
* Downloads will no longer be available.
* Development, including security patches will cease permanently.

What if I wish to keep using v3 past the end of life timescales?!
Your software will never expire and there is no obligation to upgrade.

We will also be emailing all affected clients directly in the next week on this matter.

Announcement: Email Sending Limit – Reduced to 200 per hour

AKISAs part of our efforts on the war against spam and ensuring our servers do not get blacklisted for spam, with immediate effect the email sending limit has been reduced from 400 emails per hour to 200 emails per hour and as before, any over that limit are discarded.  If you using mailing lists or the like you should adjust the settings to throttle the batches sent to less than 200 per hour. In the unlikely event this is not satisfactory to you, due to your specific requirements then we can offer a dedicated mail server with a 600 per hour limit for an extra charge of £6.95/month (single domain and charged on the same basis as your hosting account i.e. quarterly or annually) – if you need this then please open a support ticket.
