UK Internet Problems: LINX router failure = SLOW!
Yesterday the London Internet Exchange, where the vast majority of the UK Internet traffic is routed through, experienced severe networking difficulties. This was causing significant packetloss and intermittant outages. We just wanted to clarify that this was only affecting routes from clients who go to us via LINX ISP peering, not from our servers to client. But, it does mean if your ISP was routing you via LINX you may not have been able to access your sites, this was completely outwith our control andwas in no way an AKIS issue/problem!

UPDATE: This problem is still having a knock on effect and causing slooowwww internet for many ISPs today/tonight on the 10th.
UPDATE 2: 11th Dec, Looks like the LINX problem is still affecting many of the UK ISPs with many forum posters still reporting speed issues – refer also this news article.
